Opportunity Description

Our client is a specialty chemical manufacturer supplying ingredients to the Specialty Chemical, Consumer Products and Personal Care industries.  We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Assistant Manager or Manager Trainee with solid knowledge of global regulatory requirements, leadership skills and knowledge of labeling and QA activities.  This fabulous opportunity will report to the Regulatory Manager and may have special assignments reporting to the President.  The individual will have leadership responsibilities for role a small group of experienced regulatory professionals ensuring corporate compliance with global regulatory, quality and product safety programs.

Job Duties

  • Ensure corporate compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and internal Contract Process 
  • Ensure appropriate training and direction for Regulatory and QA Specialists; ensure a positive team culture and environment of positive department morale, train new staff members, ensure high level of cooperation and communication within the department and with other departments within the organization, participate in staff performance evaluations, make recommendations for promotion and assist with disciplinary issues 
  • Manage QA activities as assigned, including but not limited to the coordination of customer complaints, re-certifications, and customer specifications.  Prepare and review technical literature, labels, COA and Safety Data Sheets. Ensure appropriate product packaging.
  • Participate in internal meetings, present department status as assigned and maintain ISO compliant programs
  • Adhere to safety, health and environmental standards are maintained. 
  • Generate regulatory filings and maintain Regulatory Affairs Product filings (paper and computerized) in accordance with company policy.  

Education

  • BS degree or Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) preferred.

Experience & Skills Required

  • 5+ years of Regulatory Affairs experience preferably with expertise in the Specialty Chemical, Consumer Products or Personal Care industries.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and ISO.
