Opportunity Description

The Senior Director of Information Systems will oversee infrastructure, applications, information security, IS contracting, technology vendor management, and special projects. This position will report to the COO to align overall technology and applications with the current entity. The Senior Director of Information Systems will lead by example, fostering a team approach with a highly collaborative engagement strategy across the entire organization. The Senior Director of Information Systems will gather consensus to help develop, implement, and managing system-wide information services, systems, and technology.  The Senior Director of Information Systems will contribute and support the Organization's corporate strategy, policy, goals, initiatives, and operational performance measures. The Senior Director of Information Systems will lead and develop a small but highly competent IT team.

Job Duties

The Senior Director of Information Systems will be responsible for the following:

Provides the successful implementation of services and systems to support the mission and strategic business plan. 

Work closely with senior administrative and clinical leadership to develop and integrate systems to enhance operations and improve performance.

Ensure that end-users receive the appropriate support for organization initiatives.  Work collaboratively with all related entities to discuss their needs, establishing and adhering to agreed-upon priorities to achieve results that meet expectations based on measurable outcomes within budget.

Consistent, objective, and cost-effective performance that demonstrates value to the Organization.

Level management skills; strive to be objective, cooperation, give recognition, contribute, and develop trust, make and keep commitments.

Ensure that the information technology infrastructure, architecture, standards, and applications support  Hospital's needs.

Participate in the selecting, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating information systems and telecommunication systems, including application software, hardware, 

Education

Bachelors or 7 years + progressive experience managing Hospital IT Department

Experience & Skills Required

The ideal candidate is a leader that can create the credibility and respect to succeed in a healthcare information technology environment. A successful Senior Director of Information Systems will possess the knowledge and demonstrated ability to recommend decisions to support the Organization's mission fulfillment, strategic direction, and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will bring foundational IT knowledge and prior managerial experience to lead the IS department.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be a team player.

• Three to five years of experience as a Director or significant managerial role in an information systems environment
• Have experience in a healthcare patient care organization
• Ability to work closely one on one, with small groups, and communicate at all levels in the Organization
• Ability to engage with IS staff and manage the affairs of the IS department
• Ability to foster talent and manage and develop IS Directors
