The Manager, Supply Chain, is an essential member of the Operations team, responsible for ensuring that supply chain functions operate properly and material flow is maintained for effective and efficient product realization to meet customer demand. This position reports to the VP Product Management

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement structured solutions incorporating the use of formal systems in managing the needs assessment and procurement of raw materials
  • Compile data to support Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Mentor and train staff and affected personnel on the implementation of formal system tools for supply chain management functions
  • Develop, implement and maintain a fully integrated planning process that includes capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material availability and associated cost elements
  • Implement Lean initiatives to optimize material flow, reduce cycle times, and maintain 5S standards
  • Drive continuous improvement activity to streamline the assembly, flow and accuracy of information from purchase requisitions to shipping documents
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of optimized production strategies (make-to-order, FG replenishment, late point packaging, etc.) based on customer requirements and business needs
  • Manage supplier performance issues (delivery, quality, cost) in conjunction with QA and other departments as required
  • Manage functional shipping and logistics activities in support of department needs and in direct supervisory capacity as needed
  • Manage flow of raw material from incoming receipt to managed storage locations
  • Interface collaboratively with internal and external personnel to drive cross-functional solutions
  • Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned

Education

Minimum BS degree in Engineering discipline or Management

Experience & Skills Required

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) working with MRP systems, preferably Axis, in a materials management role  
  • Experience (5+ years ) in shipping & receiving logistics, domestic and international
  • Experience in deployment of Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, Waste reduction
  • Project Management training
  • 5+ years in a management level supply chain leadership role
  • Experience in supply chain leadership in a manufacturing facility
  • Working experience in Lean Manufacturing principles, engaging with people at all levels of an organization
  • Proficient knowledge of data management and analysis tools utilizing Excel, Access, and similar software
  • Formal, structured use of standard MRP/ERP system tools, especially as they pertain to material controls functions
  • Demonstrate clear and effective communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence and educate all levels of the organization
  • Individual should be a self-motivated, assertive thinker that can work effectively in a freely structured environment
