Opportunity Description

Our client is hiring for Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst in Brooklyn, New York. This role offers a salary between $90,000 and $100,000 annually, depending on experience. 

In this role, you'll be responsible for providing support in relation to Laboratory systems implementation, education, upgrades, and post-implementation support for the Department of Laboratory/Pathology and other Departments that interface with this Department. You will design, code, test, document, and maintain complex applications; design and implement new systems features and customizations, including the writing of SQL/SQR, query.

Job Duties

As the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst, you will:

  • Meet with users in order to define system requirements.
  • Designs, codes, and implements Laboratory and Pathology systems including reporting customizations.
  • Performs system testing of new modules, enhancements and upgrades.
  • Educates users regarding new systems functionality and as needed.
  • Provides nd user support for Laboratory and Pathology applications and translates those needs into the development of tests plans.

Experience & Skills Required


  • 3-5 years of systems experience as a LIS Analyst and/or MLT in a hospital setting with LIS database knowledge experience.
  • 2 years of college or technical training. Professional licensure is a plus where appropriate, MLT is preferred
  • Preferred: A 4-year degree in Computer Science or a Master degree in Informatics with professional licensure, where appropriate.
  • Technical training with certification (e.g., CNE, Network Engineering). Professional licensure where appropriate.
