Opportunity Description

The HR Business Partner/Benefits Specialist  position will provide support in the administration and coordination activities of the  Company’s Benefits Department.

Job Duties

  • Main point of contact with employees and managers on a variety of health and welfare issues including claim issues, plan design questions
  • Responsible for monthly insurance premium payments; maintains billing spreadsheets 
  • Responsible for disability management – act as liaison with employee and TPA
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Notify payroll of all disability Advice to Pay changes - weekly
  • Notify payroll of all benefit changes which require a change to Payroll – weekly 
  • Responsible for life events, input into Oracle HRIS, coordination with employees 
  • Participates in benefit plan conversions as they arise. 
  • Assist in Open Enrollment process and any benefits plan conversions 
  • Process life insurance claims 
  • Responds to Medicare and child support forms.  Ensures appropriate parties obtain the necessary information. 
  • Responsible for benefit plan reporting to upper management, as necessary
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data 
  • Resolve any Oracle HRIS IT issues with our IT group 
  • Ensures all vendor feeds are of the highest quality and resolves issues as they arise


Bachelor’s degree preferred 

Experience & Skills Required

  • This position requires discretion and sensitivity due to the highly confidential nature of work assignments
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with others in a service environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum 3 years’ experience in Benefits field  
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills with a strong sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy in work product, with exemplary organizational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of HR policies and practices, employment laws and regulations preferred
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization both within HR and throughout the company, including with external parties
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Highly flexible and motivated individual with an ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Strong Microsoft Office and proficiency in Excel required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check, Drug Screen and Credit Check
