Opportunity Description

The IT Project Manager reports to and takes direction from the Manager, IT Infrastructure Operations. The IT Project Manager should be familiar with and have proven experience in planning and coordinating IT projects across an organization. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for project initiation, project scheduling, status reporting, resource monitoring & reporting, and project closure

This is a long-term contract role.

Ideally, you will work 3 days or more in the office.

Job Duties

Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to

• Coordinates multiple projects simultaneously.

• Develops and consistently updates project plans and schedules.

• Liaises with stakeholders such as project personnel, vendors, and end-users regarding project requirements.

• Develops work breakdown structures and RACI matrixes based on project objectives and scope.

• Facilitates information gathering to estimate project costs, resources, time scope, and deliverables.

• Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed. • Implements document control policies, processes, and documentation templates.

• Gathers and reviews project cost estimates.

• Monitors project progress and works with stakeholders to implement changes where necessary.

• Reviews invoices and continuously monitors project actual costs versus budgets and evaluates factors that may potentially cause cost changes.

• Monitors for scope, quality, & timeline issues and escalates as appropriate.

• Performs quality reviews and monitors projects for potential resource requirement changes. 2

• Ensures project compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.

• Identifies potential conflicts and works with stakeholders to resolve issues that may arise during projects.

• Performs coordination of the risks of the projects, including the development of contingency plans.

• Responsible for project documentation including project plans, business & IT requirements, and weekly status reports. • Ensures project deliverables and outputs are received and archived for future use. 

Experience & Skills Required

Qualifications: • 3+ years of proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector.

• PMP certification, or similar, preferred.

• Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

• Ability to communicate and document complex technical concepts.

• Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.

• A good understanding of concepts in the areas of networking, servers, cloud systems, and audio-visual & end user technologies is preferred.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication (verbal & written) and resource management skills.

• Must be detail oriented.

• Experience with Microsoft Project and other similar tools preferred.

• Knowledge of ITIL desired.


ITIL, PMP or other Project Management certifications a plus.
