Opportunity Description

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior PACS Support Analyst to join our dynamic healthcare IT team. The Senior PACS Support Analyst will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), specifically focusing on expertise in GE MUSE or Philips PACS. The successful candidate will deeply understand medical imaging workflows, PACS administration, troubleshooting, and user support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the seamless functioning of our healthcare imaging infrastructure.

Job Duties

• Provide expert-level support for our GE MUSE or Philips PACS systems, ensuring their smooth operation, availability, and performance.

• Collaborate with radiologists, clinicians, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges related to medical imaging.

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PACS software, including updates, patches, and integrations with other systems.

• Perform routine system audits and monitor PACS performance to proactively identify and address any issues or potential bottlenecks.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve complex PACS-related problems promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal patient care.

• Develop and maintain documentation related to PACS configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior PACS support staff, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

• Collaborate with vendor support and engineering teams to escalate and resolve advanced technical issues that require vendor assistance.

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in PACS systems to drive innovation and process improvement.

• Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical PACS issues.

 

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.

Experience & Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working directly with GE MUSE, Philips PACS or other similar vendors. 

• Strong understanding of medical imaging modalities, DICOM, HL7, and other relevant healthcare IT standards.

• Proficiency in PACS administration, configuration, and optimization to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

• Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex PACS-related issues effectively.

• Experience with performance monitoring tools and proactive system maintenance.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, from technical teams to medical professionals.

• Leadership qualities and the ability to guide and mentor junior staff.

• Relevant certifications such as PACS Administrator certification, DICOM certification, or vendor-specific certifications for GE MUSE or Philips PACS are desirable.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
