The Human Resources Director is responsible for the smooth and profitable operation of the company’s Human Resources department. This position supervises and provides consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, employee relations, budget, and labor relations.

Job Duties

  • Assist in development and attend functions that perpetuate employee cohesiveness and unified company family.
  • Development and implementation of major personnel programs to promote staff morale and teambuilding.
  • Guidance on personnel management and behavior.
  • Coordinate that all documentation submitted is subject to EEO guidelines.
  • Conducts and coordinates all investigations and interventions.
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements constructive and timely performance evaluation process.
  • Imposition of all levels of discipline including performance plans, warnings, and terminations.
  • Serves as sounding board, counselor, and/or independent party for all employees.
  • Successfully works with diverse groups of people and organizations in many capacities.
  • Ensure that all managers have training matrixes and timelines in place for onboarding new hires.
  • Develop and maintain a career path for driven employees.
  • Ensure that employees seeking training are given the opportunity to excel.
  • Ensure all processes for HR purposes have been communicated verbally and in writing for unilaterally training and standardization processes.
  • Oversee in-house training program and maintain employee training records.
  • Administer medical/dental/workers compensation/disability/unemployment programs and policies.
  • Familiarity with all the above programs for compliance or auditing purposes.
  • Store benefit files (HIPPA) separate from personnel files.
  • Maintain all current waiver forms for employees that declined insurance.
  • Provides information, record keeping and reporting for all employees’ health and welfare.
  • Guide all payroll functions using time saving and cost-effective procedures.
  • Understand and interpret payroll procedures.
  • Work closely with payroll administration for all deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
  • Consistently review compensation and benefits of high performing staff to promote retention.
  • Track employee compensation history and provide guidance to President regarding employee salaries.
  • Monitors and conducts research and analysis of organizational and industry compensation trends including review of reports and metrics and communicates to upper management.
  • Develops, maintains, and enforces personnel policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employees’ personnel records and proper retention and destruction of records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal laws (FLSA, WLAD, ADA, FMLLA, WISHA).
  • Works to ensure that rules, policies, procedures, and regulations are enforced consistently, firmly, tactfully, and impartially throughout the organization.
