Opportunity Description
Experienced Bilingual Dental Office Coordinator needed to coordinate the daily desk operations in the dental clinic and provide excellent customer service to patients. The incumbent collects money, updates patient demographics, schedules student/patient appointments, and closes out appointments. This position strives to make each phase of the patient treatment a positive experience from the initial patient phone call on through the completion of the dental treatment care.
Job Duties
- Perform check-in, update demographics, collect and upload patient dental insurance information, and verify dental eligibility when needed.
- Submission of accepted treatment plan for pre-authorizations in Axium.
- Submission of preauthorization on the insurance portal.
- Filling cancellations and no-shows and review of scheduling opportunities to optimize the appointment book.
- Update scheduled patient appointment status to indicate cancelled or no-show appointment.
- Perform check-out duties
- Perform End of Day closing duties and run End of the Day reports.
- Evaluate patient accounts: Collect payments, prepare adjustments, & allocate funds.
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) to support the Group Practice team with their patient care management. Meet at least weekly with CPL to review patient compliance.
- Check emails, voicemails, and respond to them in a timely fashion.
- Collect and send additional information requested by insurance companies.
- Run reports assigned to control patient Accounts Receivable balances; (unapproved charges, pre-payments, & open balances).
Experience & Skills Required
- A college degree (AS) with dental experience OR General Education Degree or High School Diploma with a minimum three (3) years of Dental experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge in patient relations, scheduling, bookkeeping, ADA coding, insurance, dental billing, and reimbursement, including experience with HMO & PPO plans.
- Basic Life Support/ CPR Certification or recent related course completion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook required
- Effectively manage and organize daily tasks, independently and with a team, while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines required
- Adherence to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records.
