Opportunity Description

The Senior Grant & Compliance Administrator supports the Capital grant application and management function. The incumbent will interact with agency personnel to develop new grants, respond to funding agencies’ inquiries and assure compliance with the terms and participate in the development of new grant applications by contributing to the identification of projects eligible for funding.

Job Duties

  • Attend meetings and communicate with line departments and project managers to gather all required information for drafting grant applications.
  • Develop expertise in the regulations and guidance issued by federal agencies, especially the Federal Transit Administration, to provide direction to  staff in various roles and departments.
  • Collect and organize documentation needed to satisfy requirements for new applications and mandated record keeping.
  • Review and enter data to complete periodic reports that may be required for funding agencies and other government entities, such federal, state, or local agencies, including metropolitan planning organizations.
  • Monitor federal and state agencies’ websites for pertinent information about funding programs, training opportunities, regulations or guidance, and disseminate summaries and links to appropriate personnel.
  • Works in various web-based or shared computer systems to collect information, review data for accuracy, and enter or revise entries to reflect grant funding, project descriptions, milestones, and other data.
  • Aids the agency in responding to oversight reviews, such as the Triennial and State Management Review, other compliance reviews. conditions of awarded grants. Maintains accurate information and completes work timely.

Education

Bachelor of Public or Business Administration, or related field, from a US Department of Education accredited college or university, and three (3) years of associated experience. 

Experience & Skills Required

  • Familiarity with FTA or other federal and state grant rules and regulations desired
  • One year of familiarity with 2 CFR 200, and the capability to research federal and state statutes and regulations.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access
  • Excellent communications and writing skills for grant documents, correspondence, and internal office memorandums.
  • Ability to learn to use financial and budget computer systems.
  • Comfortable working independently on complex matters closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
