Opportunity Description

Experienced Human Resources Benefits Coordinator needed for a 3 month contract assignment in downtown White Plains. Position will be HYBRID.

The coordinator will assist the Benefits Team in coordinating the administrative tasks required for maintaining the Benefits programs.  Provide customer service to employees; interface with insurance and investment carriers regarding enrollment and changes; coordinate and process disability and workers’ compensation claims for all employees.

Job Duties

  • Assist the Benefits team with customer service of benefits; monitors calls; benefits inbox; resolves issues; monitors/creates metrics; works directly with Benefits Team to ensure reasonable timeframes for issues resolution.
  • Assist with process and follow up on workers compensation claims in collaboration with Risk Management.
  • Assist Benefits Specialist with the company leave programs including FMLA ensuring compliance with policies and state/federal regulations. Monitor leave duration, send correspondence, complete requisite forms, track COBRA, and coordinate with disability vendors.
  • Assist in the process of setting up direct bill for employees on an unpaid LOA (leave of absence).
  • Maintain employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.  Educates associates on HIPAA and our inability to share PHI (protected health information) with other colleagues who may not have a business need for accessing the data.
  • Performs other administrative duties as needed.

Experience & Skills Required

  • 2 -3 years of benefits exposure
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to learn and comply with federal and state laws and regulations (i.e. HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.) as well as company policies pertaining to benefits, and work within the requirements set by these regulations 
  • Strong customer support skills; provide support and assistance on all phases of employee benefits
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and data management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point
