Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Strategy:
o Lead the development and execution of the clinical informatics strategy, aligning with the organization’s overall mission and healthcare goals.
o Collaborate with senior leadership, clinical departments, and IT to define informatics priorities and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
o Provide leadership and direction to the clinical informatics team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Clinical Systems Integration & Optimization:
o Oversee the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical software platforms to ensure seamless workflows.
o Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools designed to improve clinical workflows, patient safety, and quality of care.
o Work closely with clinicians to identify opportunities for improvement and integrate informatics solutions that meet clinical needs while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• Data Analytics & Decision Support:
o Lead efforts to leverage data analytics and business intelligence to inform clinical decision-making, enhance patient outcomes, and improve operational efficiency.
o Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of clinical data, promoting the use of standardized data for reporting, research, and clinical trials.
o Develop and implement decision support tools and clinical dashboards to enhance the delivery of care.
• Clinical Quality & Compliance:
o Partner with clinical leadership to drive quality improvement initiatives, utilizing informatics tools to monitor and improve clinical processes and patient outcomes.
o Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Meaningful Use, MACRA, and other relevant standards.
o Monitor and address clinical system-related issues that could impact patient care, safety, or regulatory compliance.
• Training & Support:
o Provide ongoing education and training to clinical staff on the use of health IT tools, ensuring proper utilization and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
o Serve as a resource for resolving issues related to clinical systems and technologies, offering troubleshooting support to clinicians and staff as needed.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in clinical informatics and health IT.
• Collaboration & Communication:
o Facilitate collaboration between IT, clinical, and operational teams to ensure clinical needs are met through the appropriate application of informatics.
o Communicate effectively with clinical staff, management, and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of informatics solutions.
